Abstract

This research aims to examine the relationship between fathers' irrational beliefs and their views on their children's rights in terms of various variables. The research was conducted with 193 fathers and used the quantitative research method of the relational screening model. Participants were asked to complete the " Attitude Towards Child Rights Scale" and "Parent Irrational Beliefs Scale" online. According to the results of the research, it was determined that fathers' irrational beliefs differed in favor of fathers in the "expectations" sub-dimension according to income status, and fathers' irrational beliefs differed according to fathers with a primary education degree. The "Perfectionism" belief sub-dimension, and attitudes towards child rights sub-dimensions of "Protection and Care", "State Support and Assurance" and "Self-Decision" were found to be related. In addition, it was found that there was a low level of positive correlation between fathers' irrational beliefs and the Self-Decision-Making sub-dimension, which is also an attitude towards child rights.
