Abstract

This analysis examines 25 experimental studies, published between 2010 and 2021, focused on yoga practices of children aged 3-14 years in a school setting. The main goal of this study is to determine the general characteristics of yoga practices in schools, compile the findings to elucidate alternative yoga practices to be developed specifically for children aged 3-14 by researchers working in this field, and present practical finding about yoga practices to teachers/parents. The experimental studies included in the study were identified through a comprehensive review of numerous databases and an in-depth analysis of national/international journals. The selected studies’ content was examined and the findings were analyzed by categorizing into the demographic features of yoga studies conducted with children aged 3-14 in a school setting, their effect on the developmental areas of children, and the challenges encountered in the practices. Based on the results, it may be recommended to conduct more in-depth studies in the future to analyze how yoga practices affect development areas and to solve the problems experienced in its practice.
